Amateur Dramatic Club.
Ihe meeting called for Wednesday evening last for the purpose of considering the formation of an amateur dramatic; club in Roxburgh was well attended, -.here being over dozen persons present.
Mr A. G. Laloli was voted to the chair and explained the reasons tor the meeting beiap called.
After some discussion it was resolved that a dramatic club be formed to be called the Roxburgh Dramatic Club.
Ihe following office-bearers were appointed : —Patron : His Worship tho Mayor : President, Mr J. 11. Waigth, junr.; vice-president. Mr J. W. \Yh e lan; secretary, Mr E. Mot rin ; t onunittee, Miss Tippett, Messrs J. H. Waigth, jun.. .). Whelan, A. G. l.aloli, .1. Cormack, and E. Morrin.
It was resolved that the subscription Iv -2s 6d for gents, ladies bee. It. /is proposed tb start right away to put on a play and the committee are busy at present selecting a suitable one. It is probable that the first concert will be in aid ul" some local object but nothing definite has been decided vet.
