BEAU BRUMMEL THIEVES.
Two men, very well dressed, lately called at the concierge's lodge of a block of flats in one of the best quarters of Paris and asked if Mme. Doublard, the tenant of one of the flats, was in. Each carried a bouquet of expensire flowers. Impressed by their appearance the concierge said she believed Mme. Doublard was out, but they could go up in the lift to see. They went up and returned half an hour later without the flowers. They bowed politeiy to the concierge as they passed her lod~- "When Mme. Doublard returned the flat was found to have been Tansaeked and £4O in cash, together with jewels, stolen. On the table, carefully placed in rases, were the flower* which had served tie thieves as \\rnr excuse for calling.
