The Feilding Golf Club
On Saturday last the Feilding Golf Club closed its season with a mixed Canadian foursome which resulted in a win for Mrs. Gifford and C. A. Curtis with a net score of 66. Detailed results were:—Mrs. Gifford and C. A. Curtis 91 —25—66, Miss Maclvor and P. Whiteman 86 —16—70, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Hare 85—16—72, Mr. and Mrs. T. Donaldson 92 —20 —72, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Niccoll3 93—23—72, Mrs. McLean and L. W. Penliey 99—27—72, Miss Stewart and K. Ilaybittle 100—28 —72, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Farquharson 86—13 —73, Miss R. Stewart and J. Stewart 93 —20 —73, Miss Campbell and S. A. Parkes 96—23—73.
At the conclusion of the match the president, Mr. T. Donaldson, thanked members for their co-operation and the committees for the good work performed during the season, special reference being mado to tho services rendered by Mr. R. H. Farquharson. A reference was made to Mr. W. E. Carthew’s efforts in various spheres and fhe ladies’ committee for their able assistance at all times. The president intimated that some 25 members had returned from service overseas and had availed themselves of the special facilities offered. At the conclusion of 'his remarks, Mr. A. C. McCorkindale moved a hearty vote of thanks to tho president for his untiring efforts. This was carried with acclamation. Mrs. Donaldson then presented the trophies won during the year:—.Senior championship, F. W. Gover; runner-up, P. Whiteman. Intermediate championship, M. Barltrop; runner-up, A. C. McGorkindale. Junior championship, C. A. Curti3; runner-up, W. H. Niccolls. Brown Cup, L. A. Burke; runner-up, J. Campbell. Hegarty Cup, D. B. Beattie; runner-up, V. J. Stichbury. GonvilieSaunders Cup, K. H. Smith. President’s trophy (points), C. B. Thomas. Long and short, V. J. Stichbury aud M. Barltrop. Medal Cup, M. Barltrop. Waimana Cup, J. Stewart. The following ladies’ trophies were presented:— Junior championship, Mrs. V. Short; Brown Cup, Miss W. Robson; Medal Cup, Mrs. C. H. Tate.
The following pupils of the Feilding Agricultural High School have been accredited with matriculation passes this year:—Margaret Dixon, Margaret Malcolm, Ngaire To Punga, Ruth Hawke, Desmond Dalgety, D. Ward, B. Meech and A. Kemp.
