Stock Markets

Dalgety and Coy. report on the Bulls stock sale, as follows: “A large entry of sheep and cattle and a medium yarding of pigs was submitted to one of the largest attendances of buyers seen at Bulls Sale for some considerable time. The entry in the fat sheep section comprised several pens of hoggets and odd pens of fat sheep. Hoggets sold to a fair enquiry -with values on a par with recent sales. Local butchers operated freely in the fat sheep, and an excellent sale resulted. Fat cattle also commanded good prices, with prices fully firm on late rates. The demand for the several pens of station cattle on offer was not so keen as the previous sale, but nevertheless buyers met the market. Values for weaner heifers were also back a shade. Figs met with a keen sale at advanced prices. A great deal of interest was taken in the special sale of implements on account Mr. Colin Whale, which met’ with keen competition, realisations being fully firm on recent sales.
