Cricket Starts Tomorrow

The 1945-46 cricket season is to open in Feilding on Saturday and the local association has planned to rokindlo the utmost interest in this summer sport. In addition to a senior and junior competition, the association is promoting a schools’ competition and this will be controlled by members of the association who have undertaken to devote time to encourage tho boys in taking part in the games. It is interesting to record in this connection that the Bunnythorpe School is to take part in this schools’ competition, and tne matches will be played on Kowliai Park on Saturday mornings. Senior players will undertake the umpiring. There are five teams in the senior competition including teams from Kimbolton and Colyton. Kimbolton players have undertaken to travel to Feilding each Saturday and in tho case of Colyton the arrangement is that matches will alternate at Feilding and Colyton. A first-class wicket has been prepared by Colyton* interests. Feilding players to be on Kowhai Park at 1.30 p.m. tomorrow.—Seniors: W. Dunn, T. James, C. Hight, Sigvertsen, J. Laing, L.
