The death is announced from London of the famous "Punch" cartoonist, Sir Bernard Partridge, at the age of 77. Mrs. C. Louisson, of Palmerston North, lias received a letter from her son, Flying-Officer J. Louisson, who is a prisoner-of-war in Java, stating that he was very pleased to receive letters from, home, and that at the time of writing his health was excellent. He also mentioned that Mr. Noel Brookman, of Wellington, was with him. The death has occurred in Auckland of Rear-Admiral Robert Neale Lawson, C. 8., R.N. (retired), who for two years in the last war was flag captain to the Commander-iu-Chicf Home Fleet, Admiral Jellicoe. Rear-Admiral Lawson was 72 and spent part of his retirement in New Zealand. He came to New Zealand with his family in 1927 and settled in Hawke’s Bay. In 1930 he returned to England but in 1942 he came back to New Zealand after his second son had been killed while serving with the Royal Air Force over France.
