Sick and Wounded Back From the War

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 10. The arrival in Wellington to day of a hospital ship with a large number of sick and wounded and protected personnel was announced by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones). Most of the patients, he said, were officers and men, nurses and Wanes from Italy and the Middle East, but some were repatriated prisoners of war from the United Kingdom. The patients Avould undergo medical boarding at Wellington before dispersal to their districts, the Minister said, and those not fit to travel would be transferred to the Wellington Hospital, where they would remain for the time being. Patients fit to go home and protected personnel belonging to Wellington would be granted leave until Monday. Patients and protected personnel for the Manawatu, Wanganui, Taranaki, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne would proceed to their homes on {Saturday morning and protected personnel only for stations north of Marton would leave Wellington by the Auckland express on {Saturday. On Sunday eA’ening patients for all stations north of Marton w'ould travel bv a special hospital train. District Personnel.
