The Feilding Chamber of Commerce intends to do all it can to assist in the development of home building in Feilding by cooperating with builders and allied workers. Mr. H. V. Hubbard reported at Monday's meeting of the

chamber that lie had been in touch with the Building Controller and he hoped that with some unification of effort and the provision of more materials something might be achieved towards assiting a difficult problem.

Due to an adjustment iu certain rural mail deliveries which require that certain settlers living immediately adjacent Feilding should have their postal matter addressed Palmerston North, it is accepted that these settlers do, in fact, live in Palmerston North. According to reports placed before meetings of the Feilding Chamber of Commerce the position is not at all satisfactory and reporting to Monday's meeting of the chamber Mr. H. V. Hubbard (president) indicated-that Mr. M. H. Oram, M.P. (member Manawatu), had assured him that a satisfactory readjustment was likely.

The mishap to the goods train just as it was arriving in Feilding from'the north on Monday evening called for the services of a large repair gang which first cleared the main line and then concentrated in shifting the damaged steel wagon which had been the cause of the trouble. The damaged wagon was yesterday morning lifted by a special crane and secured on a large truck while gangers proceeded to repair the permanent way. Several months ago a goods train met with an accident on almost the identical spot when a truck which had suffered bogey trouble failed to negotiate the automatic points on the loop line.
