Happiness Club
Mrs. J. Penketh presided over the June meeting of the Happiness Club. Sympathy was expressed with members who were ill. Mrs. Creighton read the happy thought. Visitors were present from Auckland, Waikato and Linwoud. Birthday gifts were presented to Mesdames Middleton and Farrar, while a birthday gift was also handed to Mrs. Penketh from the club. Miss M. Alderson contributed a vocal
solo and a sketch entitled “A Cosy Chat,” produced by Mrs. Garrick anil, played by Mesdames Hay, Holmes and Humphries, was much enjoyed. Mrs. Carrington 3aug during afternoon tea. A competition was won by Mrs. Turnbull and tho lucky cup went to Mrs. Butcher. The competition for something new from something old resulted: Mesdames Johnston, le (Jlianiinant and Butcher. Mrs. Mcllroy played for the club songs. Tea hostesses for July will be Mesdames Robb, Robinson, ftykes, Sykes Jnr., Skinner, Spooner, Stenberg. Swan, Taylor, Thompson, Turnbull. Turner and Tucker.
