STAN LAWSON’S SPARKLING SHOW At the Opera House, Palmerston North, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, May 14, 15 and 16, theatregoers will have the rare joy of seeing Stan Lawson, New Zealand’s ace pro-ducer-actor, romp through tho most hilarious musical show which has toured the country for many a year. This famous artist, of Digger and Kiwi renown, the man who had played the lead in and produced the big musical comedies anil revues in the main centres, such as “The Country Girl,” “Belle of New York,” “Eight Sharp” aud “Tho Arcadians” has carefully selected and brilliantly directed a cast of New Zealand’s finest artists, handpicked for their brilliance and variety. With such well-known names as Rowena Jackson (of Auckland, Australia’s most delightful dancer), Colin Campbell (of Oamaru, the Dominion’s best baritone), Esme Pedder (of Christchurch, a lovely soprano and charming actress), Maurice Tansley (of Invercargill, the Pacific Kiwi singing sensation), Joyce Chambers (Christchurch, whose infectious personality in singing or acting has endeared her to every audience), Harry Howlett (Wellington, of radio fame, a dynamic actor, comedian and playwright), Laurie Jones (Wellington’s vivacious soubrette), Lily Robertson (first violin for the 3YA Orchestra, popular concert artist) and Slim Somerville (an effervescent comedy star), it can easily be seen that “Wait For lit” has everything to offer the public. Added to all this are more highlights of the show, 10 lovely girls in sensational ballets, devised and trained by none other than Rosetta Powell, of Sydney. The orchestra, a perfect combination, is under the able leadership of Doris Osbo e, for four years pianist for Humphrey Bishop’s musical show. Box plans are now open at Collinson and Cunninghamo’s.
