“Kiwis” Present A New Slow
With the speed, smoothness and precision of the best professional shows of this type, the Kiwi Concert Party presented their new entertainment “Alamein Antics” to a large and appreciative audience in the Opera House, Palmerston North, last evening.
This team of talented artists who first came together to fill the entertainment needs of New Zealand troops in the Aliddle East, show' a degree of versatility which is surprising. Their new revue, which will be presented iu Palmerston North again to-night, well maintains the high standard which the company set ou its earlier tour of the Dominion. The range of its repertoire in music, song und sketches is sufficient to satisfy the most critical of audiences and interest is held at concert-pitch th roughest. Phil Jay, Jack Hunter and Tim Bonner with tlioir female impersonations, were among the star performers of “Alamein Antics,” which has more than a fair quota of artistically arranged musical sequences. The orchestra, under George Hatton, played several novel arrangements of popular tunes, and the show generally was liberally interspersed with the spark-
ling wit of Eddie Hegan, Dick Marcroft and the cumpere, Jim Millins.
Letters from Italy, the Aliddle East, Great Britain, and 1 lio Pacific, and from men serving on the high seas and in isolated places in India and Burma, all these thank the Patriotic Funds for parcels and comforts received. Help ou the good work with a generous contribution to Patriotic Funds.*
