Germans Remove Noted British Prisoners of War
KING’S AND QUEEN'S NEPHEWS INCLUDED Heceived Thursday, 7.30 p.m. LONDON, April 18. A Times’ correspondent who was taken prisoner in tne commando raid on St. Nazaire was among the prisoners released from a prison camp on April 15. He said three nights previously the Germans removed a niunber of special prisoners including Lieutenant Lord Lasceiles, the King’s nepnew; Captain the Master of Elpiunstone, the Queen’s nephew; Captain Michael Alexander, Field Marsual Alexander’s cousin; Mr. Giles Bomeiliy, Mr. Churchill’s nephew; and Mr. John Winant, son of the American Ambassador in London. The correspondent added that the Germans were on the point of remove mg the remaining 350 prisoners, including many well-known British officers and others, when the Americans reached the camp.
