Mr. A. Whyte, of Auckland, is visiting Pahiatua and is a guest at the Club Hotel. Pilot-Officer Stout, of the E.N.Z.A.F., is spending part of his furlough in Pahiatua. Miss B. Napier of the local telephone exchange staff, is spending her annual leave at Alfredton. Mr. Joseph E. Wade, of Konini, cele brated his 80th birthday at his home yesterday with a small family party. Ah members of the family except Mr. W. 1. Wade, of Marton, were present. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Moller have taken residence in Pahiatua, Mr. A. W. Moller having been transferred from Te lvuiti to the staff of the local Bank of New Zealand. t Mr. Y. G. Boivin, of the Marine De partment, is the guest of the Rev. T. V. Pearson, Pongaroa. Mr. Boivin, who has had a varied experience with the Merchant Navy during the war, is to ad dress members at the conclusion of the annual meeting of the Mangatainoka parishioners which is to be held to-mor-row night, and later in the month will again narrate the activities of the Merchant Service at a similar meeting at Pongaroft.
