(From Our Own Correspondent.) As usual tho monthly dance run by the younger set was an outstanding success and the hall was once again filled with dancing enthusiasts last week. The programme consisted of both modern and old-time dances and by special request Miss Fay Wilton contributed vocal numbers. The raffle run by the younger set was drawn, the winner being Miss June Mitchell with Mr. Peter Wiggles worth as runner-up. Messrs P. Wigglesworth and R. Wilson were the M. 'sC. The official closing of the tennis club was in tho form of a ladies’ and men’s handicap singles and proved a fitting wind-up to a successful season. Mrs. A. Waldin was the winner of the ladies’ section with Mrs. It. Hooper runner-up. Mr. Ron Wilson was the winner of the men’s section and Mr. George Btone was runfier-up. In presenting the trophies to the successful players both the president, Mr. W. Hocken and club captain, Mr. C. Wilson, expressed pleasure at the enthusiasm displayed by members and congratulated them upon the standard of play maintained. With favourable weather conditions it is anticipated that the courts will still be made use of over the week-ends. Make April your month for a generous contribution to Patriotic Funds. Palmerston North-Kairanga district has been asked to raise £12,200 to further work done by Patriotic Funds for our men overseas, the sick and wounded and prisoners of war. Give now' and give generously.*
