Received Tuesday, 9.50 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 19. “Our troops continue the reduction of enemy strongpoints on Corregidor and mopping-up iu the rear of the batteries,’’ says General MacArthur’s communique. “We are combing Bataan Peninsula for enemy remnants. The steady reduction of enemy positions south of Manila continues. We captured Fort McKinley, Hagonoy and Tagig on the northwest shore of Laguna Bay. Frequent patrol clashes continue to the north near Novaliches and Norsageray. Elements of the 40th Division continued mopping up remnants in the Zambales mountains. “The Air Force supported all ground activity. Light naval units sank four enemy barges in Manila Bay. Motor torpedoboatß destroyed a small cruiser off Cebu. Our fighters set fire to a fuelladen vessel at Visayas. Other targets included bivouac areas on Sasa aerodrome (Davao), enemy supplies at Batuan north of Mindanao, an aluminium factory at Takao (Formosa), small freighters off Formosa, Indo-China and in the Sakashima, the islands of Miri and Tawao, aerodromes at Labuan (Borneo), mica mines at Menage in the Celebes, also targets in the Soela islands, Ceram, Wewak, Rabaul and Bougainville. ’ *
