W.D.F.U.

The quarterly meeting of tlie W.D.F.U. (Manawatu Provincial) was held recently at Levin. Mrs. Jenkins presided over a fair number of delegates from the various branches. Tjio morning was occupied chietly with routine business. Mrs. Batholomcw, housekeeping secretary, stating that during the last three montns she had supplied two cmorgency housekeepers. The dressmaker was due in about one month’s time and the branches were asked to send in the mourners’ names and the length of time each one would require ner. in the absence of Mrs. Barker, Mrs. McCleuvy gave the rest home report. A letter I was received front the Wellington Provincial suggesting a school oi mstruc-! tion for omeers in the provincial, to be held on September 15 from 10 a.m., two delegates from each branch to attend. Mrs. McCleavy gave an explanation on the much discussed children’s vocational guidance card. This cleared up quite a number of points not understood by members.
