“ Radio Poland " Again on the Air
Received Monday, 8.50 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 28. Radio Poland, the Polish official wireless, which has been silent for five years, is on tho air again from Warsaw. Its present announcor is an R.A.A.F. officer who was captured by the Germans early in tho war, escaped and finally joined the Polish Underground Forces. His voice is heard in London twice daily and his name is known to the Air Ministry but has not yet been disclosed. He is telling British listeners about the heroic fight of the Poles in Warsaw against great odds. The information he has given includes: The Polish civil administration te working smoothly despite the bitter warfare going on in parts of the city. The cinema is showing prewar British films and newsreels of the current fighting in Warsaw. The Poles, he sayß, are working miracles.
