Choosing Brigadier Hargest's Successor

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 28. Nominations are being called for a National Party candidate to represent the Awarua electorate in succession to the late Brigadier Hargest. The nominations are to close on September 6 and the candidates will be selected on the 12th.

The secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party stated to-day that the question of Labour’s contesting the scat and of selecting a candidate were being considered and an early announcement would be made.
