Woodville Wedding

BOYD - BUSST St. David's Presbyterian Church, Woodville, which had been decorated by Mrs. W. Galbraith, was the scene of a pretty wedding on the evening of Friday, May 19, when Muriel Ellen, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Busst, of ‘ ‘ Tahau,' ’ Papatawa, became the bride of Private Reginald Ernest Boyd, only son of the late A. K. Boyd and Mrs. Geo. Banks, of Woodville. The Rev. W. Martin was the officiating minister. The bride looked charming in her beautiful frock of ivory satin with fully trained skirt. Her Rowing tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of white gardenias and she carried a bouquet of white and pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Two of the bride’s girl friends were her maids, Miss Merle Hook, of Shannon, and Miss Dorothy Dickins, of Papatawa. They wore pale pink amd powder blue frocks of heavy crepe respectively, made with tight-fitting bodices and full skirts with self embroidered neck lines, and carried pale pink chrysanthemums and blue iris bouquets. The bridegroom was attended by Ptes. Sid. Wood and Arthur Pegler. Later a reception was held in the W.I. Hall, Woodville, where the guests were received by the bride's mother who wore a black suit with corsage of scarlet polyanthus roses, and by Mrs. Banks, who wore a tailored costume with shoulder spray of cream dahlias and narcissi. The floral work for the wedding was artistically carried out by Mrs. Frank Herrick and Mrs. R. Cunningham, of Papatawa. After the reception many guests adjourned to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Busst where they viewed the many presents and enjoyed a pleasant evening. The bride, for going away, chose an embroidered frock of black cashmere and wore a fur coat which was the gift of the bridegroom.
