Anglo-U.S. Navies One and Indivisible

Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, May 27. In one month of this year 11.500,000 tons of Allied shipping were convoyed across the Mediterranean. This Is re vealed by Admiral Cunningham In his first press conference since the opening of the Italian campaign. He added that the percentage of Allied losses In the Mediterranean in three months was .28 per cent. Two thousand merchantmen monthly made voyages between Mediterranean ports and the daily average was 230. Admiral Cunningham emphasised tbe vast amounts of raw materials that now passed through the Mediterranean on their way to Britain. “I have lost the habit of differenti ating between the Royal Navy and the United States Navy. It does not even enter my mind. Both navies are one and Indivisible and I hope they will always remain so,” he said.
