What Girls Can Do!
The Repertory Revue, which in response to numerous requests is playing an eagerly awaited return season in the Opera House on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week, has, during the past three years, built up for itself an unrivalled reputation amongst the boys in uniform and among those members of the public who have been privileged to see its performance on the few occasions in the past on which it has | played in public for patriotic purposes. The Revue Company was started by the Rlanawatu Repertory Society early in 1941 in order to help in meeting the need for entertainment in the Military and Air Force camps. An unique feature of the Company, and one reason for its popularity, has been the fact that from the first it has been an all-girl show. The girls decided, as part of their patriotic
| effort, to be entirely independent of male assistance. They wrote their own scenario and sketches, made all their own stage costumes, worked out their ballets, and built their own properties. The Company has been continuously in rehearsal and has given over 100 performances to the boys.
