Farewell Presentation

Tho opportunity was taken at the annual meeting of the Women’s Division of the Fanners’ Union to bid farewell to Mrs. IT. Paterson, who will shortly be leaving the district. Mrs. C. Cornelius Walker said that the people of Pahiatua had received a blow when they heard that Dr. and Mrs. Paterson were leaving them. Airs. Paterson was one of the original members of the Women’s Division. She had represented New Zealand women as a delegate of the Women’s Institutes in Canada and the United States. “We are proud to know,” said Mrs. Walker, “that she represented 30,000 New Zealand women, and she is a member of our Division.” Pahiatua was very fortunate in having Dr. and Mrs. Paterson and she hoped Mrs. Paterson would come back to see them when possible. Airs. R. A. Wilson then presented Mrs. Paterson with a book on behalf of members.
