Kumeroa Dog Trials

Fine weather prevailed for the Kumcroa Sheep Dog Trial Club ’s annual fixture on April 3, 4 and 5. At the conclusion the president, Mr. G. B. D’Ath, thanked the judges, Messrs E. McLeod and J. Stewart, for the able nlanner in which they carried out their difficult task. He congratulated the winners and thanked all competitors and visitors for their support. The grounds used for the trials were very satisfactory and the club is indebted to Messrs Beatson and Cranfield, also to Mr. Morgan for the loan of sheep. Special mention was made of tl\e excellent work done by the new sheep stewards, Misses D. Toogood and N. Last; also to Mr. and Mrs. East for assistance given during the trials. The using of two grounds ,at the one time made extra work on the small number on the committee, but Mr. D’Ath congratulated everyone on the manner in which they handled a total of 186 dogs competing in the various classes. Mr. D’Atli mentioned, too, how Mr. Ramsden had given very great help towards assisting young competitors in tho training of their dogs, by running a dog trial a week ago on his property. Results could be seen in the larger number of local men competing, and very successfully, too. Three cheers were called for the judges and heartily given. In reply, both judges said that they had enjoyed being along and that the work throughout was of a very high order. Both congratulated the winners. Long Head Results. Open (44 entries): 8. F.
