Received Tuesday, 9.50 p.m. CANBERRA, March 21. The Prime Minister (Mr. Curtin) said this replving to statements made on March 17 by Archbishop Mannix, who was reported to have said that the press was asserting that Mr. Curtin spoke for Australia when he seemed to take sides in the issue and that he would be surprised if Mr. Curtin’s personal opinion on the question would be enthusiastically endorsed by his own party or even by his own Cabinet.
