Tho returns from tlio Palmerston North postal area lust week showed a considerable improvement on recent weeks. The city's total reached £1960, the district, consisting of 22 offices, totalling £3780. Feildiug Jed the suboffices with a splendid £1069 16s. Dannevirke secured £341 and I'ahiatua £lO9. The list of towns obtaining their quotas comprised Palmerston North, Apiti, Dannevirke, Feilding, Foxton, Glen Oroua, Kiinbolton, Levin, Pahiatua, Pongarou, Rangiwahia, Rongotea, Weber and Woodville—l4 in all. Palmerston North’s total was helped considerably by several fairly large deposits. which shows that National War Sayings with its 3 per cent, interest has the confidence of the small investor and this should lie an inducement to small depositors to make their deposits frequently and regularly. 4 4 Melody ’ ’ Dances To-night’s the night!
