Decorations for Medical Personnel

CAIRO, Sept. 10. Niue decorations won by officers and men of New Zealand medical units in campaigns in the last three years were presented to-day by General Freyberg before one of the largest parades of New Zealand field medical personnel ever held in the Middle East. Paraded under the command of Colonel It. D. King, D. 5.0., of Tjmaru, Assistant Director of Medical Services of the Now Zealand Division, were three field ambulance units and their Army Service Corps sections. With Brigadier H. S. ICenrick, Director of Medical Services Second N.Z.E.F., General Freyberg inspected the parade and took the salute for the march past. The decorations which had been won in the first and second Libyan campaigns, Greece, El Alamein and North Africa, were as follow: D. 5.0.: Colonel King. Military Crosses: Major A. L. Lomas, Captain J. M. Stavely and Captain L. A. Bryant. D.C.M.: Driver E. A. Henderson. Military Medals: Corporal C. C. Robiuson and Private A. H. Meyer. British Empire Medal: Staff-Sergeant H. W. Lucas. Member of the Order of the British Empire: Lieutenant H. W. Cawthorne.
