Hitler Creates New Nazi Terror Corps
Received Thursday, 9.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 16. It is authoritatively reported that Hitler is transforming his blackshirted Nazi Elite Corps, “Waffem S.S.” into a polynational European force earmarked for ruthlessly suppressing revolts against Hitler and to act as fifth columnists in native countries. The Nazis apparently hope that the new force, whose members are being specially trained in street fighting in Gestapo schools, will be less averse than purely German troops to firing on German revolutionists. Military experts believe that the establishment of this “European 5.5.,” including Danish, Norwegian, Belgian, and Moslem Nazis, has resulted from the heavy losses of the German S.S. on the Russian front as well as from a desire by the Nazis to transform their originally ultra-nationalistic doctrines into doctrines acceptable to non-Ger-man Europeans.
