Victorian Labour Government Lasts Two Days
Received Thursday, 11.60 p.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 16. The Premier (Mr. Cain) has resigned after his Labour Government has been in office for two days. The resignation followed the refusal of the Governor to grant a dissolution as a result of the Government’s defeat in the House by a combination of the United Australia and the Country Party. Mr. Dunstan, former Premier, will form a composite U.A.P.—C.P. Ministry.
