Presbyterian Giving

A summary of the finances of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand for the year ended August 18 was reported to the Auckland Presbytery. This showed that the estimated requirements for mission and other church schemes were £47,218 and the actual expenditure £43,132. The amount received from all sources was £49,410. leaving a surplus of £6287 on the year’s work. The amount asked for from con gregations was £40,648 and the amount received from them was £41,022. This latter figure was £1076 more than the previous year’s figure. The moderator, the Rev. H. J. Lilburn, said the presbytery was very proud of the achievement of its people during the past year. To-raonrow night at the Palmerston North Opera House, the fourth annual boxing tournament of the Marist Brothers’ High School will take place. Boxing fans who have attended on previous occasions have always been high ia their praise of the standard of boxing provided by the school.
