Armed Forces Appeals
Mr. T. L. Scddon presided at a sitting of tho Palmerston North Armed Forces Appeal Board and associated with him were Messrs W. Sutherland and A. Grigor. Mr. H. J. Worthington represented the Crown. The decisions were:—Adjourned sine die: F. L. Mur ray, F. K. Clayton, T. E. Rose, F. M. H- Bull, M. L. Styclie, li. P. Dranslicld and T. B. Beale, bank officers, appeals by Bank of New Zealand, Ltd.; D. W. Speedy, bank officer, E. M. Car ter, audit and relieving officer, K. P. Ramsay, bank accountant, appeals by Bank of New South Wales, Ltd.; E. F. Moody, bank official, appeal by Union Bank of Australia, Ltd.; A. H. C. Steward, teller, J. A. McPherson, accountant, appeals by Commercial Bank of Australia, Ltd.; D. A. Wilton, pharmacist, appeal by Director of National Service on behalf of Leary’s Pharmacies, Ltd.; G. R. Barnes, dairy farmer; R. H. Lewis, county council em ployee, appeal by Pohangina Countv Council; E. L. l’awson, farm hand, appeal by H. D. Kutherfurd; J. Brooking, sheep farmer; R. E. R. Leader, building contractor. Other decisions were: F. G. Falk, well-borer and shearer; dismissed, K. S. Wilson, assistant accountant, appeal by Palmerston North Hospital Board; dismissed, not Ito be called up before December 31, 1943. Florence M. Goodwin, domestic (volunteer for W.A.A.F.), appeal by Palmerston North Hospital Board; dis missed, not to be called up before the end of September.
