Sunshine Club

The August meeting of the Sunshine Club was held in the club rooms, Mrs. Waller presiding over a good attendance of members. Two new members were elected, Mesdames Cleavor and Wilson. Parcels were donated for overseas, also the usual monthly donation ot one guinea for the minesweepers. Members staffed the Y.M.C.A. canteen in July. Tho club rooms were gaily decorated with flowers for the social afternoon on August 19, Mrs. Waller welcoming members and visitors. The hostesses were Mesdames Boon, Lucas and Alderson. Items thoroughly enjoyed were rendered by Mrs. Ryan (songs); Mrs. Lucas (elocution); and community singing with Mrs. Boon at the piano. Major Hj f de (padre) gave a very interesting talk on experiences in the Middle East, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. He was accorded musical honours.
