The death is announced from New York of Dr. Karl Landsteiner, the American whose discovery of the classification of human blood into four main groups paved the way for blood transfusions which havo saved scores of thousands of lives.
Mr. Norman S. Byburn, who was employed at the Wanganui branch of the Bank of New Zealand and was relieving at the Bulls branch, was found dead in his bed at the Rangitikei Hotel, Bulls, at 8 o’clock on Saturday morning. When a maid took in a cup of tea at 7 a.m. Mr. Ryburn was apparently well, but when he was called for breakfast an hour later, ho was found to be dead. He was 38 years of age and his wife and two children reside in Wanganui.
