All Saints’ Children’s Home

The monthly meeting of the All Saints’ Children’s Home Ladies’ Committee was held in the Girls’ Club room on Thursday. Canon G. Y. Woodward presided over a good attendance. It was decided to hold the annual meeting of the Children’s Home on Monday, May l(Jth, at 4.30 p.m. in the Girls’ Club room. The Matron’s report stated that three children were indisposed, but the others were all in good health. There are nine Brownies among the girls, and threo of the boys are Cubs. Harvest

festivals have been very abundant this year, and the gifts of fruit and vegetables to the Home have been most generous. Mr. Voss of Karere very kindly donated two tons of potatoes, a very welcome and generous gift, for which the Ilome is most grateful. The Matron wishes to acknowledge with thanks gifts from the following:—Mrs. Sulser, apples; Mrs Radford, tomatoes; Mrs Sutherland, shoes and clothing; A.N.A., bread, scones and cakes, per Mrs Dixon; Kairanga W. 1., vegetables; Mrs Richardson, apples and rhubarb; Miss Paisley, clothes; Kairanga Patriotic Shop, scones, vegetables and meat; Mrs Robinson, dripping; Mr Collis, meat; Y.M.C.A., scones, Haxten's Parlour, pies; Mrs Shedden and Mrs O’Neil (Greytown), clothes; Mrs Robson, beans; St. Paul’s Methodist Church, harvest produce; Homo Guard, milk and , bread; 143 Russell St., onions; Mrs Tait, toys; Mrs Davies (Rongotea), apples; Mrs Boswell, apples, Sanson Patriotic Committee, cakes; Padre Winhall, vegetables; Mrs Pye, apples, Mr Hill (Awapuni), apples; Bowling Club, scones and bread; Mr. Paddy, meat; Manawatu Meat Co., meat; Mr. Sowerby, cream; Mr. Rush, firewood; Mr. Pratt, hairdressing; also harvest produce from Hunterville, Kamoko, Normanby, Utiku, Bunnythorpe, Hawera, Poh angina, Greatford, Opiki, Shannon, Midhurst, Foxton, Rangiotu Church of England and Presbyterian, Colj'ton, Utuwai and Halcombe.
