Kiwi Concerts in Tripoli Now i (Official War Correspondent) NEAR TRIPOLI, Feb. 24. By far tlic most popular attraction for the-Eighth Army troops, now on leave in Tripoli, is the Kiwi concert party’s fifth revue—the lirst Dominion’s entertainment units to play in the city 's big modern Miramar Theatre. In a hurried overland trip of 12 days from Cairo tlic concert parly reached Tripoli soon after it fell and within a few days after their arrival began playing in tlic theatre which for so long it has been their ambition to reach. When their last tour of the New Zealand Division ended shortly before the big attack on El Alamcin last October, the Kiwis said tlicir next show would be in Tripoli. Now they have arrived, and with a brilliant twohour revue generally acclaimed by crowded houses of soldiers, sailors, and airmen as the “best in the Middle East.” Army Sports A most enjoyable meeting is promised for this evening when the Divisional sports organised by the A.E.W.S. (Army Education Welfare Service) will be held in the Sportsground, Palmerstou North. About 400 entries have been received and the competitions should be' excellent as many athletic champions now in the Army will be taking part. Admission is free and the general public are cordially invited. Grocers and Sugar Ration Severe criticism of the sugar rationing arrangements for March was voiced in Auckland by Mr. R. M. Barker, secretary of the New Zealand Grocers’. Federation. He said the federation had repeatedly asked that the amount of the ration should be auiiounccd some days before the commencement of the month so that the grocers could utilise the quieter days of the week for weighing up ratioued goods ready for the next mouth’s trade. Mr. Barker has sent the following telegram to the Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan): “We view with considerable concern the Government’s failure to announce before this last working day in the month the tea and sugar rations for March. It is manifestly most unfair to deny the grocers, all of whom arc seriously understaffed, an opportunity of weighing up rationed goods ready for the uext week’s business.” National War Savings Weekly Objective £l9Bl Moil., Mar. 1, £243 13s. e
