Received Friday, 9.55 p.m. WASHINGTON, Feb. 25. Mr. Donald Nelson told the press that the United States was able to supply and equip an armed force of over eleven millions in 1943 without resorting to a bedrock civilian economy. He did not know how much fat can still be pared off the civilian economy, but it was inevitable that civilians would make additional adjustments. Mr. Nelson denied reports that he in tended to resign, stating; “Decisions I make disturb the nation’s economy and for that I am criticised, but I cannot and will not resign. There is a war on and I have a job to do/'
