tiritea Mrs. bliere presided over the February meeting. A letter was received from the Kairanga County Council asking for help at the patriotic shop, arrangements being made. Members were reminded of the annual meeting on March 18. A letter was received from headquarters, which will be discussed at the next meeting. Mrs. Carruthers, of Pascal Street, demonstrated bread buttonholes. Mrs. Milner and Mrs. Edevine were hostesses for the afternoon. NAUMAI There was a good attendance of members for the first meeting of the year. The president (Mrs. Poananga) referred to the death of Mrs. Kauri’s sister, and members stood as an expression of sympathy with Mrs. Kauri. It was decided to hold a social and dance on March 2 to celebrate the institute’s first birthday, the proceeds to be handed to Mr. Hausmann, Feilding, for his campaign for an ambulance, arrangements being finalised. Next month’s competition is a tray cloth made from flour bag. Tea was served by Mrs. Durie and Mrs. Moses. Hostesses for next month will be Mesdames Kauri and A. Browru
