Marion Ram Fair

There was a good attendance of buyers at the Marton Ram Fair and although the entries were considerably less than previous years, some very line quality Tarns came forward and these met with good competition. The show classes attracted considerable attention and the first, second and third prizes in the Romney section was secured by Mr. G. L. Marshall, the first prize pen realising Mr. Marshall also received first prize in the single entry of the Romney show classes and the ram realised llgns. In the Southdown section, the first prize pen of four went to Mr. A. C. Vile which made 14gns, the second prize also went to the same vendor which made 32gns., and the third prize was secured by Messrs. B. Illston and Sons which made 14gns. In the single sheep section in this class, first prize was secured by B. Illston and Sons, and this ram made 14gns. Mr. P. F. Andrew was second and Messrs Read 8r03., third. In the Stud Southdowns, a very nice ram on account of B. Illston and Son realised 20gns. The following are the principal sales: — Show Classes: —Romneys: Account G. L. Illston and Sons, 1 at 14gns; account Read Bros., 1 at 13gns; account P. J. Andrew, 1 at 6gns. Flock Romneys: Account G. L. Marshall, 8 at 84gns, 8 at 7gns; account H. W. Gudopp, 4 at Ggns. Mock Southdowns: Account C. S. Anderson, 5 at 124gns, 5 at 10* gns, 5 at 84gns, 5 at 10*gns; account A. C. Vile, 5 at logns, 5 at 13gns, 5 at 12gns; account Read Bros., 2 at logns, 3 at 14gns, 2 at 10J gns, 3 at lOgns, 2 at s*gns; account G. L. Marshall 3 at 7gns, 5 at 64gns; account P. A.
