ANNUAL INSPECTION AND PARADE The annual inspection and parade oi the units of the Manawatu took place on Sunday afternoon at the Palmerston North Boys’ High School grounds, when the Commissioner, Mr. \V. W. Dutton, and headquarters, stall were in attendance. Through the courtesy of the Palmerston North City Baud, spectacular interest was added by providing appropriate music for each pnase 'of the proceedings. The parade was first inspected by tue Commissioner and stall, after which a general routine of bandaging work was performed to the satisfaction of headquarters officials. All units were then formed into column of route order and, headed by the band, passed the saluting base, where the Commissioner took the salute. Assisting the Commissioner at the base were the following: —Miss M. H. McKnight (lady district superintendent), Mr. H. C. Wilson (district officer, Manawatu), and Mrs. M. L. Bussell (lady district officer and secretary). Complete satisfaction was expressed by the Commissioner w hen the parade was reassembled and in his remarKs congratulated all on the fine display. The following divisions and superintendents were on parade:—Palmerston North City Ambulance Division (Mr. W. Morgan), Palmerston North Railway Division (Mr. E. A. Ashcroft), Palmerston North Nursing Division (Miss R. Duckworth), Milson Nursing Division (Sister D. Mortensen, lady superintendent), Feilding Nursing Division (Sister G. Lcitch), Feilding Transport Division (Mrs. McDowall), Palmerston North Cadet Division (Mr. Furness), Palmerston North Railway Cadets (Mr. Wilson). Mr. C. Hausinaun, superintendent of Feilding, was also in attendance. Another Flock House At a meeting of trustees of the New Zealand Shipowners ’ Acknowledgment of Debt to Biitisli Seamen Fund (Flock House, consideration was given to the re-establishment of a farm training centre for sons of seamen or airmen who had been killed or incapacitated in the present war, and the steps already taken towards this end were reviewed. It was decided to approve the policy and to proceed with the proposals immediately world circumstances permitted.
