Canine Corps for U.S. Army

Received Monday, 7.20 p.m. NEW iORE., Aug. 16. The U.S. Army has requested the mayors of all cities to contribute trophies of the last war such as cap tured caunons and tanks now standing in parks tor conversion into armaments, promising to replace them after the wai with new trophies captured from the Germans and Jajmnese. The War Department announced an intensive training programme for dogs in a new Canine Corps being organised. The dogs will be used as sentries, messengers and aeroplane spotters, also for attacking enemy parachutists.
