War Industries to Work on Anzac Day

WELLINGTON, April 22. The Prime Minister (Bt. Hon. P. Fraser) announced to-night that the War Cabinet had decided that all firms and employees engaged in the construction of defence works and the production of munitions and military equipment would be required to work on Anzac Day. The Prime Minister appealed to every worker in these essential industries to respond wholeheartedly to this request and put in a good day’s work for New Zealand’s war effort on Anzac Day in memory of the heroes of the Gallipoli landing in 1915.
