Patriotic All-Purposes Appeal

In this issue the Mayor, Mr. R. R. Johnston (chairman of the Woodville and District Patriotic Society) has issued an appeal in connection with the district’s quota of the above appeal. The amount aimed at is £2500 and Mr. Johnston is confident that the people of Woodville and district will respond in their usual generous manner. It is hoped that by a systematic canvass of the whole district, tho amount required will be forthcoming. The society’s entertainment committee is arranging various functions to assist in supplementing the funds. Representative committees will also be operating in the Ngawapurua, Papatawa, Mangarawa and Kumcroa-Hope-lands districts for the above appeal.
