Sunday Concert

On Sunday night at the State Theatre one of the best concerts offered to the] local public for some time will be staged in aid of the Sister of Mercy.; The local Territorial Camp is contribut- 1 ing at least half of the items. Sergeant • Smith (Taranaki Regiment) is in' expert with the piano accordion, Private Blake (Wellington Regiment) will delight with vocal itoms, Sergeant MeEwan (New Zealand Scottish) is an artist with Maori songs, Private Kayo l (Wellington Rogiment) just makes the

cornet talk, and Sergeant Recde (Ist Taranaki) and Private Blake (Ist Wellington) will be popular with their vocal duets. The boys from Hawke’s Bay, Messrs. Morris, Poole and McKnight, the popular novelty trio, have a turn' which will please the most critical. Sergeant. Tresider (2nd Wellington) will render vocal items of merit, and finally a troupo of Maori boys from the j camp wil give a typical Maori haka. They will be ably supported by some of our popular local artists headed by the Mayfair Orchestra, also Alan Sundborn, Nola King, Misses Joyce Thompson and Pearl King, Master Earle Andrews, j Miss June Hutchins and Mr. C. Bell. A better concert could not possibly be Imagined. Citizens will be well advised to book their seats at Collinspn and Cunninghame’a free of nuy extra charge.
