Nazi Retort to Stalin

LONDON, Nov. 7.

The Berlin radio says that M. Stalin'■ account of the Soviet losses is ridiculous. “When he refers to the missing,” it adds, “he forgets that Germany and her allies have captured 3,500,000 Russian soldiers.”

The announcer did not refer to the German casualties, merely saying: “We shall not analyse Stalin's other figures; they are just as ridiculous. ’ ’ Tb* radio declared that, during the first three months of the war, the Russians lost 5,500,000 men. During September, it claimed, 94 Russian units totalling 1,200,000 men were entirely annihilated and a further nine divisions lost half their strength. Therefore, the Russians’ September losses might be estimated at 1,500,000.
