International Labour Conference

NEW ZEALAND TO BE FULLY REPRESENTED Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. The Government of New Zealand has decided to be represented at a conference of the International Labour Organisation to be held in New York October 27, says an official statement. A full delegation will be sent from New* Zealand consisting of two Government delegates, one workers* delegate and one employers’ delegate. Nominations for the workers’ and employers’ delegates are being asked for from the New Zealand Federation of Labour ano tko New Zealand Employers* Federation respectively. Britain indicated that she was warm ly in favour of the conference Deing held and intimated her intention or being represented. The 1.L.0. hopes that the delegations will attend from not only the British Dominions but also from certain European and Central ami Bouth American countries. The agenda include discussion on n report on collaboration between the puolic authorities and workers’ and ©m plovers’ organisations. Opportunity will also be afforded for surveying world social developments during the present critical period and also the present and. future responsibilities o, the organisation. The Government of New Zealand feels 1 that during a time like the present every effort should be made to support the organisation as any discussions at the conference will undoubtedly have a great bearing on the attitude adopteu by the various Btates members of the organisation in respect to social and labour policies iu the post-war world and in consequence the Government has decided to send a full delegation from New Zealand.
