Nazi Defence Against Air Raids Studied

British Anti-aircraft Officers Over Germany LACKING IN SCIENTIFIC PRECISION United Press Association —Rv Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 2. British anti-aircraft officers have flown in recent raids over Germany for oke purpose of comparing defensive tactics before the winter shooting really begins, says ' the Daily Mail. They watched anti-aircraft fire, studied the disposition of guns and paid particular attention to the way in "which German searchlights co-operate with night lighters. Their main conclusions are: Firstly, that the Germans throw up more fire than the British in the defence of key cities, but it is extravagant and lacking in the scientific precision which Britain aims to achieve during the lull; secondly, British radio location is ahead of Germany’s; thirdly, Germany so far has produced no startling defence surprise and German antiaircraft units have no new technique whereas London’s gun strength has tremendously increased and many more searchlights will be employed in cooperation with night fighters.
