Victory Dance The second of a series of dances to be held under the auspices of the KumeroaHopelands Young People's Club will be held in the Kumeroa Hall to-night. A professional orchestra has been engaged for the event, and with a good floor and supper patrons are assured of an enjoyable evening. Fertiliser Rationing The Southern Hawke’s Bay Fertiliser Committee (Messrs H. Chamberlain, G. Camraock and C. B. Arahill) has been frequently engaged lately with the hearing of appeals in connection with the rationing of fertiliser. It is understood that tuo authorities are giving favourable treatment in respect of cropping requirements. Although the basis of tue scheme is worked through quo'tas, the Government is making available for distribution throughout each district & certain amount of fertiliser. It is understood that -the committee has now completed its decisions. Noxious Weeds Mr. it. C. .beach complained at Thursday s meeting of the Southern Hawke’s Bay provincial executive of the Farmers’ union tnat, as the result of son from elsewhere oemg drought to build up a ramp, tho roan opposite his property now consists of a good crop ot uo.nous weeds. He had spent years in Keeping the road clean and his work hau an oecu undone. It would cost nearly £2OU to clean the road, and it would take years to complete tue work. He did not see why he should have to go to the expense of eradicating the weeds. —It was left with the secretary to look into the position.
