Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge
OFFICERS AND VISITORS PRESENT At tho quarterly meeting of the M.U.1.0.0.F. held in the lodge-room on Saturday night, the N.G., Sister D. Bick, presided over a large attendance of members. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, correspondence read and received, and accounts for £79 assed for payment. A new candidate for tho lodge was initiated and accorded lodge honours. A donation was made to an appeal received from the Makogai Lepers. Visitors from Eketahuna and Woodville were then admitted and also the officers of the Lodge, who had come from Wellington. The N.G., Sis. D. Bick, welcomed all present and tho visitors were accorded lodge honours. The D.G.M., Bro. Jorgensen, returned thanks for the warm welcome, and introduced tho D.D.G.M., Bro. W. Treadwell, D.S. Bro. P. F. Foot, Bros. R. Farrow and G. S. Bruce, of the Management Committee, and the District Treasurer and Cr.S. for New Zealand, Bro. J. L. Stewart. Each of the officers gave very interesting addresses on lodge medical benefits, iucreascd funeral benefits, and the century booklet to be published. They also spoko of the necessity of making tho social side of the lodge interesting, to keep members together during war-time. After some further information was received from tho officers, it was decided to hold tho “notice of motion” over until next lodgo night, pending further information from tho chemists. Tho D.G.M. Bro. Jorgenson, presented a lodgo emblem to P.G. Bro. Davenport. There being no further business, lodge closed, after which the visitors were entertained to supper. ,
