MANAWATU AND HAWKE’S BAY DRAW The Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay hockey representatives met on Saturday ttt Nelson Park, Napier, in a very evenly contested game. Napier held the advantage in tne first spell, the score being 2 —l in their favour. It was not until about half-way through the second 6pell that Manawatu really got going. At the final .whistle Manawatu were pressing strongly. The game ended in a draw, two-all. The scorers for Hawke’s Bay were R. Vercoe and V. McCutcheon, and for Manawatu M. Byers and M. Dilks. The teams were as follow:Hawke’s Bay: G. Hallet, P. Cassin, D. Edmondson (captain), M. Down, R. Vercoe, C. Cassin, C. Russell, A. Wootten, V. McCutcheon, R. Best. Manawatu: n. Coupe, M. Byers, A. Harris, E. Stitt, I. Davey, J. Ekersley, N. Searle, A. Nesbit (captain), K. Strand, M. Smith, M. Dilks. Messrs W. Sutton and J. Marsden were the umpires.
