Frozen Axis Firms Quitting South America

Received Mondav, Midnight. WASHINGTON, Aug. 18.

Confidential cables to the United States Department of Commerce reveal that Axis business firms are quitting South America and shipping their files and records to Japan. Twelve Japanese ships are reported to have called at west coast and Latin American ports last week and loaded hundreds of crates

of books and papers of the firms which have been frozen or blacklisted by tho United States.
