(To the Editor.) Sir, —I should like to make an appeal | through your columns to the resident* 5 of the Kairanga County for their assist- | ance in providing Christmas parcels for overseas soldiers. A total of 45,000 parcels is asked lor this year, and the quota allocated to tho county is 200, aud these are required to be delivered in I’almerstou North by the middle of September. The various women’s organisation* are doing great work in providing dur* lug the year parcels lor individual [ soldiers, but xve xvant the xxholehearted assistance of everyone in this special effort. Articles suggested in Christmas parcel include the lolloxving: 1 handkerchief, 1 tin lruit, 1 tin soup, 1 tin coffee and milk, I tin chocolate or ’ sweets, 1 tin tongues or o'ther meat, 1 toilet article. No cakes to be included, ' as other arrangements are being made . for these. 1 am sure that with help and advice [ given by members of the Kairanga • I County Council xvc can make up our JI quota.
